HAND PAINTED NUTCRACKERS
Our gift shop also offers unique one of a kind nutcrackers. These are
hand painted and designed to enhance any collection of this wonderful
holiday folk art.
A tradition was born in 1992 when we decorated the Southern Hotel for
Christmas with a Nutcracker theme.....In celebration of the 100th
anniversary of Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker Suite".
Barbara decorated a great many Nutcrackers as part of the theme. She
enjoyed doing them so much, and sharing them with people. She has
continued painting these special decorations. Some of the most special
ones are done as a series, but never more than 12.
If you care to see any of them you must come to the Southern Hotel Gift
Shop. The Nutcrackers range in size from 12, 14, 18, 20, 24 and 36
inches.
Our most special "Crackers" are previewed at our "Nutcracker Tea",
always held the Sunday afternoon after Thanksgiving (November 26th).
